The one stop breast clinic is our gold standard for assessment of breast conditions. It starts with a history and examination of the individual, followed by some form of imaging.

The one stop breast clinic is our gold standard for assessment of breast conditions. It starts with a history and examination of the individual, followed by some form of imaging.
If a woman is over the age of 40 we would offer them a combination of a mammogram and an ultrasound scan. If they are under the age of 40 it will often be an ultrasound scan. We would sometimes use a mammogram if there was a concern about breast cancer. We would also be able to offer them a biopsy or what we call a needle test to syringe some cells off. We're confident in identifying over 98% of conditions using this setting.
