I was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 31st Friday ....

That day me and my family went into shutdown to come to terms with the news.
Saturday was spent telling family and friends.
Sunday 2nd June I decided to do the Sutton fun run which I had entered weeks earlier!!
At the start of the run I had 7 fellow runners asking how I would do ..... in the run
Well how do you tell these guys that you have cancer (it certainly kills a conversation)
After that run I decided that I wanted everyone to know as it seemed to help me cope with it ....
I didn’t want people feeling sorry for me as that seems a negative to me.
Also talking about my condition helped me and my friends ....
The reason was friends learnt more and felt more comfortable talking to me which in hand helped me.

Over the months I had high and low days during my treatment and this is where I found friends who had already experience cancer helping me ....
The strange thing was that they were all women and I felt comfortable talking to them.

Why you ask......
For me talking to a man about the same condition was too close to home for me but a woman was different !!!
If she had issues with her treatment it would not worry too much due to the fact we were different sexes and that helped .....

Also I’ve got a lot of respect for these ladies because they had experience it !! So when I needed advice they were there with answers and solutions.....

Going forward would I speak to a man now and the answer would still be no !

Would I help another man ..... yes
I have no problem helping another person weather it’s a man or woman.

Exercise has been a big factor to me holding it all together....
A sense of achievement and a routine which gives you a normality about everything ! When your world has been turned upside down.....
