Accessory breast tissue
Some women (very few men) may have excess breast tissue and some fatty tissue in the armpit area. This is called ‘accessory breast tissue’. It may behave like normal breast tissue in that there can be swelling / fullness / pain before a period, it may develop breast lumps or even change with pregnancy.
If this is bothering you, we can arrange to have this surgically removed. This would involve a scar in the armpit area.
