Non Cancer Breast Reduction in Birmingham

A bilateral breast reduction (BBR) is considered more of a functional procedure rather than a cosmetic one. The aim is to reduce the volume and heaviness of the breast by removing breast tissue and skin and making a smaller breast.

Some women with heavy, larger breasts will have a number of problems including neck and back ache, poor posture, bra straps digging into the shoulder, recurrent infections under the breast fold as well as low esteem, reduced confidence and difficulty with the clothes they wear.

Levels of satisfaction following a BBR are high. Women may have renewed self-confidence with improvement of posture and back pain. We will discuss complications from surgery which include T-junction necrosis, nipple necrosis and lumpiness.
