 Implant Rupture exchange

Breast implant rupture may present in a number of ways. There may be a history of trauma followed by some swelling and deformity of the breast, some women will have a swelling in the lymph nodes as a result of silicone leakage and others may have no symptoms at all. In the latter group, the rupture may have been identified incidentally at the time of some other form of imaging.

We can discuss the urgency to have a ruptured implant removed and exchanged. If the opposite breast implant has been in for a significant period of time, we may offer having that exchanged at the same time even though it may not have ruptured.
