Who makes up the breast cancer team

The breast cancer team is a very multidisciplinary team. One of the most important individuals is the breast care nurse, who is really the patient's advocate throughout their whole journey. There's also the breast surgeon, the breast radiologist and that's the individual who's involved with checking all the scans, the mammograms, doing the biopsy, the ultrasound scan. There's the oncologist, there's often a reconstructive surgeon that may be involved in an individual's care. So we're quite fortunate in that we have access to the full range of the multidisciplinary meetings so that we aren't an individual making a recommendation, instead we are a group making a recommendation for an individual's treatment.
